Haman-gun Takes Proactive Measures Against Child Abuse
Emergency Inspection Conducted for 440 Home-Care Children
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] In the wake of the Jeong In case, urgent measures to prevent child abuse are needed, and Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has taken proactive steps.
On the 8th, Haman-gun announced that it will conduct an emergency inspection of the child-rearing environment for 440 children, including adopted children receiving childcare subsidies and children who are home-cared for without attending daycare centers.
Emergency inspections for adopted children receiving childcare subsidies will be conducted by the 29th of this month, and a full survey of home-cared children will be conducted by March.
This investigation will be carried out directly by 12 child welfare officials from the Resident Welfare Division and the towns and townships.
Meanwhile, the county plans to thoroughly prevent child abuse by promoting the Dream Start project for vulnerable children and hiring dedicated child abuse officers and child protection personnel.
