Blue House Holds NSC Standing Committee Meeting... "Comprehensive Efforts to Release 'Detained Ship'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sunhee] On the 7th, the Blue House held a Standing Committee meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) chaired by Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, to review the government’s response system regarding the 'Detention of Our Vessel in the Strait of Hormuz' situation.
Immediately after the meeting, the Blue House stated in a press release that the standing committee members are taking the situation seriously and said, "Based on the friendly Korea-Iran relationship, we have decided to make all-out efforts at the whole-of-government level to ensure the swift release of our vessel and the safe return of all our nationals."
Furthermore, it added, "While paying close attention to North Korea’s 8th Party Congress, we reviewed the situation on the Korean Peninsula and international affairs, and decided to actively promote diplomatic cooperation with the United States to smoothly advance pending issues between Korea and the U.S. through close cooperation among diplomatic, security, and economic ministries in relation to the inauguration of the new U.S. administration."
