[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Kyobo Lifeplanet Life Insurance announced on the 7th that it has launched the '(Mu)m Specific Infectious Disease Insurance,' which provides coverage for death caused by specific infectious diseases such as the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The diseases covered include "Class 1 infectious diseases excluding novel influenza," which encompasses COVID-19, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
The premium is 500 KRW, and without any additional cost, it provides coverage of up to 20 million KRW in death benefits for a one-year term. This product is exclusively available for mobile subscription and can be easily purchased online through the Kyobo Lifeplanet mobile webpage or application. The eligible age for subscription is from 19 to 60 years old.
