Gwangju Dong-gu Extends Free Operation of Chungjang-ro and Jeonja Street Public Parking Lots for 6 Months
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 6th that it will extend the 1-hour free operation of public parking lots in Chungjang-ro and Jeonja Street shopping districts for six months.
Dong-gu decided to extend the 1-hour free parking fee for shoppers at the Chungjang-ro and Jeonja Street public parking lots after consulting with the respective merchant associations entrusted with managing the public parking lots. The operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This decision was made to revitalize the depressed shopping districts and local economy, which have been severely impacted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting decline in consumer spending, by extending the 1-hour free operation of public parking lots for six months from January 1 to June 30 of this year.
Previously, Dong-gu had operated the public parking lots free of charge for 1 hour during the first period from April to the end of July last year, and the second period from September to the end of December.
