The county plans to support a total of 140 buildings, including houses, non-residential buildings (excluding warehouses, livestock barns, and factories), and roof improvements for vulnerable groups, by investing a total project cost of 540 million KRW.
The support targets slate used as roofing or wall materials for houses and auxiliary buildings, covering costs for demolition, transportation, disposal, and improvement according to the area.
Slate disposal per household is supported up to 3.44 million KRW; demolition and disposal of non-residential buildings (warehouses, livestock barns) are supported up to 1.72 million KRW for areas up to 50㎡, and up to 6.88 million KRW for areas between 51㎡ and 200㎡; roof improvements for vulnerable groups are supported up to 6.1 million KRW. Applicants must bear any excess costs.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Homeowners wishing to receive support for aged slate disposal should visit the town or township office where the building is located and submit an application form in person.
If there are many applicants, recipients will be selected based on priority criteria favoring vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients.
Meanwhile, slate used for roofing or walls in houses contains asbestos, a Group 1 carcinogen that causes lung cancer and other diseases, and is known as a building material that threatens health.
