The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 6th that it has started construction of the first waterfront park in Landmark City, Songdo International City.
The park covers a total area of 263,000㎡ and will be developed in two phases: Phase 1 (78,000㎡) and Phase 2 (185,000㎡).
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority plans to complete Phase 1 by the end of the year with a total project cost of 23 billion KRW. The park will feature a waterfront plaza, an observation caf?, terraced water features, and a multifunctional system equipped with fine dust reduction, irrigation, pest control, and landscape lighting functions.
Once Phase 2 is completed, the park is expected to become a popular destination for many residents, including those recently moving into Songdo Districts 6 and 8, where they can enjoy a 4.2 km coastal walk from the northwest to the south of Songdo and relax while watching the sunset.
Until now, besides Solchan Park located along the coast, there has been no suitable park adjacent to the sea in Songdo.
