Mapo-gu Public Health Center Recognized for Dedicated Service in Providing Comprehensive Visiting Health Care, Selected as Top-Rated Autonomous District (Health Center), Contributing to Seoul-Style Community Care Implementation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) was selected as the "Best District" in the 2020 'Seoul Care - Excellent Cases of Health Care Online Competition' hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government and received a commendation from the Mayor of Seoul.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government evaluated the excellent achievements of autonomous districts in the 2020 Seoul Care - Health Care Service project in five areas: ▲team approach excellence ▲practicality of integrated care ▲creativity in problem-solving ▲possibility of spreading to other regions and experience exchange ▲compliance with case management guidelines, selecting and announcing one Best District, two Excellent Districts, and two Encouragement Districts.
Mapo-gu earned this honor by being recognized for its efforts to continuously manage all fields including nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, and social welfare to promote residents' health and prevent vulnerable groups and high-risk health groups from falling into welfare blind spots despite the challenging environment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In particular, the district received high evaluations for not only planning the project but also actively promoting it through briefings to discover suitable candidates, meticulously establishing care plans tailored to each individual's characteristics, and continuing institutional linkage and management support.
The Seoul Care - Health Care Service project provides customized health and living support services to residents with complex health and care needs so that they can maintain dignity and live independently in their communities.
The district plans to continue providing comprehensive visiting services to high-risk health groups and other target groups to eliminate medical blind spots, actively respond to residents' demands for elderly care, and contribute to the realization of Seoul-type community care by improving quality of life.
