Gwangjin District Residents Volunteer at Temporary Screening Clinics
Gwangjin-gu Disaster Recovery Private Council Supports Temporary Screening Clinic Operations... Plans Weekly Volunteer Activities Every Sunday Until Extended Operation Ends on the 17th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Residents of Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) have volunteered to ensure the smooth operation of the district's temporary screening clinics.
Since December 15 of last year, the district has established and operated temporary screening clinics at two locations: Junggok Comprehensive Health Center and Jayang Public Healing Center.
Currently, the temporary screening clinics are operated mainly by Gwangjin-gu public officials and support personnel from the Dongdaemun Headquarters, but issues of workload overload and manpower shortages have arisen.
Accordingly, the Gwangjin-gu Volunteer Center, with cooperation from the private organization 'Gwangjin-gu Disaster Overcoming Private Council (Gwangjaehyeop),' has deployed personnel to assist with weekend shifts.
On December 20 and 25, 27, and January 1 and 3 of this year, which were Christmas and New Year holidays, eight volunteers each day supported maintaining order and providing guidance.
The volunteers are scheduled to support operations every Sunday with two people per site until the 17th.
Meanwhile, the Gwangjin-gu temporary screening clinics will operate until January 17 due to the extension of social distancing level 2.5. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends, with no operation between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. for disinfection.
