Honam University Confirms Joint Operation with Hangzhou Sejong Institute in Zhejiang Province, China
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Honam University announced on the 23rd that it will jointly operate the Hangzhou Sejong Institute, which is relocating to Wulsan Zhongda International University located in downtown Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, starting from 2021.
Honam University's operation of the Hangzhou Sejong Institute was finalized after the Sejong Institute Foundation approved the change of the local operating institution (from Zhejiang Tourism University to Wulsan Zhongda International University) to ensure effective management of the Hangzhou Sejong Institute and to expand the demand for Korean language and Korean culture in the areas near Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
Wulsan Zhongda International University was established by Wulsan Zhongda Group, a state-owned group ranked within the top 500 worldwide. It is expected to offer Korean language courses to 15 nearby universities and has promised diverse and active cooperation, including employee training for group members in the future.
The Hangzhou Sejong Institute was established in 2012 within Zhejiang Tourism University and has been recognized for its contributions by being selected multiple times as an ‘Excellent Sejong Institute’ by the Sejong Institute Foundation for spreading Korean language and culture to many people.
