[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Bahrain on the 4th (local time) granted emergency use authorization for Pfizer-BioNTech's novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine. Bahrain became the second country to approve the Pfizer vaccine after the United Kingdom.
According to the Associated Press, the state-run Bahrain News Agency (BNA) announced this on the night of the same day, explaining that the authorities' approval of the vaccine use was based on a "thorough analysis and review of all available data."
Bahrain had previously approved the emergency use of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm for healthcare workers last month.
