According to the US CNN, Amanda McCormick, a resident near Adelaide in southern Australia, came home on the 3rd (local time) after going out and encountered a koala hanging on the tree.
The koala rescue organization '1300 Koalas' said upon receiving McCormick's report, "At first, we thought it was a prank call."
The organization stated on Facebook, "This evening, our situation room staff answered the call. At first, he thought it was a prank call, but it was not."
They added, "A koala that wanted to create a Christmas atmosphere decided to enter McCormick's house and become a tree fairy."
The organization captured a healthy juvenile female koala and released it near the house.
The head of the organization said, "When we went the next day, the koala was still on the tree where it had climbed when released."
Experts pointed out that although koalas have a cute appearance, their claws are long and teeth sharp, so caution is necessary.
