MoEF-KDI Hold the 2nd Future Strategy Conference
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 1st that it will hold the "2nd Future Strategy Conference" on the 4th in collaboration with the National Assembly Future Institute and the Korea Development Institute (KDI).
The 2nd Future Strategy Conference will be held under the theme "COVID-19 and the Era of Hyper-Uncertainty: Challenges and Responses Regarding Resilience."
The event will feature congratulatory remarks from National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok, an opening address by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Hong Nam-ki, and welcoming speeches by Kim Hyun-gon, head of the National Assembly Future Institute, and Choi Jeong-pyo, president of KDI.
Yeom Jae-ho, Professor Emeritus at Korea University (former president of Korea University), will deliver the keynote speech on the topic "Korea's Future in the New Normal Era."
Subsequent sessions will cover the COVID-19 situation and responses by Korea and major countries (Sessions 1 and 2), COVID-19 and global issues (Session 3), and a comprehensive discussion on Korea's path forward in the era of hyper-uncertainty (Session 4).
This conference will focus on the importance of strengthening resilience to prepare for uncertain risks and proactively respond, as well as on effective measures to respond to the current COVID-19 crisis and to bounce forward positively.
In particular, future research networks from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United States, Europe, and Asia will participate to share each country's situation and response measures to the global common crisis of COVID-19 and to review global issues.

The conference will be held as an international webinar with participation from various domestic and international experts. Considering the COVID-19 situation, it will be conducted mainly online and will be broadcast live on the KDI YouTube channel as part of the 50th anniversary event of KDI's founding.
