Ediya Coffee Provides Winter Supplies to Underprivileged Neighbors
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Ediya Coffee delivered winter supplies to underprivileged neighbors through the Cheongdam Comprehensive Social Welfare Center located in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, on the 26th ahead of the year-end.
Since 2010, Ediya Coffee has been conducting social contribution activities every year at the end of the year, and this year, the event was held for 200 underprivileged households, including elderly living alone in Geumcheon-gu. On this day, executives including Namyeop Kim, Vice President of Ediya Coffee's Management Support Division, delivered winter supplies worth about 20 million KRW, including 600kg of kimchi, 200 blankets, and 200 boxes of foodstuffs to the Cheongdam Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
Having surpassed 3,000 franchise stores last year and established itself as the largest coffee franchise in Korea, Ediya Coffee is actively engaging in social contribution activities to give back the love received from customers to society. In addition to the year-end sharing event, it regularly donates supplies to centers for people with developmental disabilities in Gwangju and Daegu, and to Cheongeum Hall, an institution supporting the hearing impaired. Next month, it plans to deliver donated items to a single mother protection facility in Gwangju Metropolitan City.
Moreover, 10% of the sales amount from Ediya Water, bottled water sold at Ediya Coffee stores nationwide, is accumulated and donated to water hygiene support projects in overseas coffee bean producing regions such as Guatemala.
