View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol is reportedly staying at his residence while preparing a provisional injunction application against the suspension of his duties. On the 26th, the People Power Party plans to summon Prosecutor General Yoon to the National Assembly again to hear his explanation. Although they attempted to do so on the 25th, it was not realized due to opposition from the Democratic Party of Korea. The People Power Party intends to hold a meeting of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee unilaterally to conduct urgent inquiries.
Kim Do-eup, the opposition floor leader of the National Assembly’s Legislation and Judiciary Committee from the People Power Party, told reporters on the 25th, "According to (Cho Nam-gwan), the Deputy Prosecutor General, the information confirmed is that Prosecutor General Yoon was preparing to appear at the National Assembly from his residence this morning and is preparing a provisional injunction application against the suspension order."
Additionally, Yoon Han-hong, a People Power Party lawmaker, said, "We have submitted a request again tomorrow morning to hold a Legislation and Judiciary Committee meeting," adding, "Prosecutor General Yoon has stated through the media that he will come whenever summoned by the National Assembly, and if he voluntarily appears to make a statement, there is no way to prevent it. We have also submitted a request for Prosecutor General Yoon’s appearance at the National Assembly."
Yoon Ho-jung, chairman of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee from the Democratic Party, convened a meeting on the morning of the same day at the request of People Power Party lawmakers but adjourned it citing the lack of an agreed agenda. Representative Kim said, "If Chairman Yoon Ho-jung does not request Prosecutor General Yoon’s appearance and stalls, I, as the floor leader, will request his appearance through the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office. There is no way to stop that."
The Democratic Party emphasizes that according to Article 52, Clause 3 of the National Assembly Act, a committee can be convened if at least one-quarter of the total members request it, but the agenda and meeting date must be decided by the chairman in consultation with the floor leaders according to Article 49 of the National Assembly Act. The People Power Party intends to summon Prosecutor General Yoon if the meeting is convened.

The People Power Party also believes that Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae should appear. Representative Kim said, "This is an urgent inquiry directed at the Minister of Justice. If a meeting notice is sent, the Minister of Justice must naturally attend. If Prosecutor General Yoon comes, questions can be asked and answered."
