Gojomrye, Gwangju Buk-gu Council Member, Urges Establishment of Village Project Plan Exclusive to Buk-gu
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Go Jeomrye, a member of the Buk-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Jungheung 1, 2, 3-dong, Jungang-dong, Im-dong, Sinan-dong), urged on the 25th during the 2020 Administrative Autonomy Committee administrative audit to reconsider the direction of village revitalization projects, which are being promoted with similar characteristics in each neighborhood, and to establish a unique village project plan for Buk-gu.
Councilor Go Jeomrye stated, “Buk-gu promotes about 100 village-level subsidy projects annually, but due to the similarity of these projects, there is a concern that this may appear as discretionary subsidies given by each neighborhood or organization,” and requested, “Please discover and promote projects that provide practical help to the villages.”
She also pointed out, “Regarding the operation of the Buk-gu Village Creation Support Center, which plays a consulting role for village subsidy projects, although the newly hired center director (equivalent to grade 6) was promoted compared to the previous director (equivalent to grade 7) and one team member was added, no substantial results have been shown.”
