Shinsegae Duty Free, Produces Healing Travel Video Series 'Rasen'
Part 1 Released on the 25th... Collaboration with Art Director and Conductor Kim Kwanghyun Featuring a Different Concept Every Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Shinsegae Duty Free will sequentially release the healing travel video series "Lassen," enhanced with classical music, starting on the 25th.
The number of consumers feeling a thirst for travel is increasing. According to a survey conducted by a global travel agency, 46% of Koreans answered that they "recall the happiness of their travels while listening to music that reminds them of travel destinations."
In response, Shinsegae Duty Free is presenting a series of videos that allow people to fully enjoy the excitement of travel in their daily lives. The videos capture ordinary days at travel destinations, complemented by beautiful classical melodies. It is expected to stimulate viewers' excitement through travel scenes and healing music.
The Lassen series was produced in collaboration with Kim Kwang-hyun, an art director and conductor active in Paris. Director Kim Kwang-hyun completed the highest performance course at the Versailles National Conservatory of Music and the conducting course of the Paris Schola Cantorum Orchestra, and has been responsible for performances invited by Versailles City Hall and the Embassy of France in Korea. He is also an influencer with numerous followers, creating videos that capture daily life in Paris and other parts of Europe, combined with music.
The first episode of the Lassen series was planned under the concept "Can We Go Again?" Amid a temporary "break" from travel due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), it expresses hope that one day we will be able to travel again through scenes and music encountered during travels that have now become unfamiliar.
Shinsegae Duty Free plans to deliver videos with different concepts every month through its official website and social networking services (SNS) such as Instagram.
A Shinsegae Duty Free official said, "Although this is quite different from past travels, we aimed to vividly convey the excitement and feelings experienced during travel through the Lassen videos. We hope it will be a meaningful three minutes for some as a new experience and for others as a memory, and we earnestly wish for everyone to safely return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
