People Party on Yoon Seok-yeol's Job Suspension... "A Joint Work of President Moon and Choo Mi-ae"
"The People Do Not Want to See the 'Mangnani Sword Dance'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 25th, the People’s Party criticized Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae’s exclusion of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol from his duties and her request for disciplinary action, calling it “a joint work by director President Moon Jae-in and lead actor Minister Choo,” and asked, “How long will the director sit idly by, licking his lips, while the actor he cast is causing a commotion in front of the audience?”
Hong Kyung-hee, the senior deputy spokesperson of the People’s Party, said in a statement that day, “The public no longer wants to see Minister Choo’s reckless sword dance,” and “We hope the president’s silence will finally become a time for decisive action.”
He pointed out, “The politically biased Justice Minister, a five-term lawmaker and former ruling party leader, is destroying the rule of law,” and “She is writing an endless melodrama with retaliatory exclusion from duty and disciplinary requests against the Prosecutor General who is investigating the living power.”
He added, “The reasons Minister Choo presented for requesting disciplinary action and exclusion from duty against the Prosecutor General are even more outrageous,” and “She criticized the act of instructing the Anti-Corruption and Serious Crime Division to forward information?not involving or ordering the collection of personal information of judges handling cases of pro-government figures?by slyly twisting it into illegal surveillance rhetoric like a con artist.”
Senior Deputy Spokesperson Hong sharpened his remarks, saying, “She even wrote a novel accusing him of violating political neutrality obligations by misinterpreting a common-sense statement about considering how to serve the public after retirement as ‘intending to engage in politics.’ I hope she realizes that her behavior, which makes it difficult to distinguish whether she is a public official or a lawmaker, has been the greatest violation of political neutrality obligations.”

Hong also said, “It is a well-known fact that Prosecutor General Yoon repeatedly requested to have his name removed from presidential candidate opinion polls, which only Minister Choo ignores,” and “I wonder if this is her way of venting frustration that despite all the chaos, his name has never been mentioned as a Seoul mayoral or presidential candidate.”
