On the 25th, CJ CheilJedang announced that it will revamp its premium membership program, ‘The Prime.’ Considering the continuous increase in consumers shopping online due to the rise of untact (contactless) consumption, the focus is on enhancing practical benefits for membership holders by lowering the entry barrier, expanding purchase benefits, and strengthening exclusive events.
The newly revamped The Prime paid membership introduces an automatic payment system to ease the inconvenience of monthly membership fee payments and offers a free trial for the first month. Instead of providing a predetermined welcome gift without customer choice, a 3,000 KRW discount coupon is now offered monthly, significantly lowering the entry barrier.
Purchase benefits have also been enhanced. The previous system, which offered an additional 5% discount limited to eight times a month, has been changed to a continuous additional 7% discount with no frequency limit, greatly expanding the scope of benefits. To expand the ‘delivery’ benefits, a core need of e-commerce customers, free shipping is now provided three times a month.
Exclusive events for The Prime members will also increase. Dedicated discount events will expand from twice a month to four times a month. Events selling bulk and bundled products, as well as exclusive single items, will be held every other month. Additionally, differentiated benefits will be provided by operating a ‘membership-only trial group’ that offers opportunities to experience new and key products, aiming to secure loyal customers.
Alongside the membership revamp, the official social network service channels (Instagram, Facebook) ‘Studio The Market’ have also been launched. It is a studio-type content platform offering various genres of content. It operates as a storytelling channel where customers can access the latest news and information related to CJ CheilJedang products, customer stories, and food lifestyle content. By actively communicating with customers through content tailored to their needs, it will be nurtured as a platform to build fandom for CJ The Market.
