Opposition Legislation Committee Demands Urgent Inquiry on Choo Mi-ae and Yoon Seok-yeol
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hye-min] On the 24th, members of the People Power Party belonging to the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee submitted a request to Chairman Yoon Ho-jung of the Judiciary Committee to convene a plenary session demanding the attendance of Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae and Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.
The People Power Party judiciary members issued a statement on the same day, saying, "We have submitted an urgent request to hold a special inquiry at 10 a.m. tomorrow to verify the facts from Minister Chu and Prosecutor General Yoon."
They stated, "Today, an unprecedented situation occurred where Minister Chu ordered disciplinary action and suspension of duties against the Prosecutor General," and criticized, "Minister Chu has completely lost fairness and balance in handling her duties."
