Gwangju Office of Education Begins Inspection of Study Rooms with High Student Density Before CSAT
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 22nd that, in response to the elevation of social distancing to Level 1.5 in Gwangju Metropolitan City and the rapid increase in local COVID-19 cases, it deployed three teams (10 people) on the 20th to conduct special quarantine guidance inspections targeting study rooms with high student density.
With the 2021 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scheduled for the 3rd of next month, the Office of Education plans to focus on inspecting compliance with quarantine rules in study rooms and similar facilities to ensure student safety and concentrate administrative efforts on preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the region until the CSAT.
The key quarantine rules include managing visitor logs (using electronic entry logs or maintaining handwritten logs), checking visitors for symptoms and restricting entry of symptomatic individuals, wearing masks, leaving one seat empty between occupants (except where partitions exist), limiting occupancy of group rooms to 50%, and regular ventilation and disinfection.
Lee Seung-oh, Director of the Education Bureau at the Gwangju Office of Education, said, “Ahead of the CSAT, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community, not only academy and study room staff but also students and other primary users must strictly adhere to the core quarantine rules. The Office of Education will continue to focus its capabilities on preventing and controlling COVID-19 to ensure the safety of students and citizens.”
