Dobong-gu 'Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign' Fundraising Drive Underway
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) is conducting a three-month intensive fundraising campaign for the '2021 Hope Ondol Warm Winter' until February 15, 2021.
The Hope Ondol Warm Winter project is an initiative that supports low-income residents and vulnerable neighbors in welfare blind spots who are not legally protected, so they can spend a stable winter. This is done annually through cooperation between Seoul City and the Seoul Community Chest of Korea.
Last year, the district raised 480 million KRW in donations, delivered with warm hearts from various parts of the community. This year, aiming for 500 million KRW, fundraising activities will be promoted together with the Seoul Community Chest from November 16 until February 15, 2021, for three months.
The collected donations will be used for living expenses, medical costs, housing expenses, and more for neighbors in need within the district.
In particular, this year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, a system allowing donations via QR code scanning using smartphones has been introduced.
Individuals, groups, or companies wishing to donate money or goods can contact the Dobong-gu Welfare Policy Division or the local community service center.
Donors may also directly deposit funds into the donation account (Woori Bank 015-176590-13-523, Account Holder: Social Welfare Corporation) and submit a donation form to the local community service center.
Additionally, since May last year, the Dobong-gu Social Welfare Council has signed a business agreement with the Seoul Community Chest and has been conducting the 'Dobong Guardian 1004 Movement' year-round.
This movement promotes a CMS agreement method where donors contribute a desired amount monthly, aiming to establish a continuous fundraising campaign in Dobong-gu.
