On the 8th, the Korea Skating Union Election Management Committee announced that during the two-day candidate registration period starting from the 7th for the 33rd president election of the Korea Skating Union, Chairman Yoon registered as the sole candidate.
Candidate Yoon currently holds positions as chairman of Genesis BBQ Group, standing chairman of the Korea Food Service Industry Association, honorary chairman of the Korea Franchise Association, chairman of the Top 100 Franchise CEO Forum, and vice chairman of the Korea-US Economic Council.
The Korea Skating Union Election Management Committee had planned to hold the presidential election on the 20th, but since Chairman Yoon is the only candidate, the committee will review any disqualifications for the sole candidate at the election management meeting on the 9th and decide the winner of the presidential election.
Once a new president is elected, the Korea Skating Union Management Committee plans to request the Korea Sports Council to lift the designation of the union as a managed organization and proceed with preparations to normalize the union’s operations.

Meanwhile, the Skating Union was designated as a managed organization by the Korea Sports Council on September 20, 2018, due to incidents and internal discord around the time of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
