Jeonnam Province Holds 'Labor-Management-Government-Civil Society Industrial Peace Practice Declaration Ceremony'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced on the 4th that it held the ‘Labor-Management-Government-Community Industrial Peace Practice Declaration Ceremony’ aimed at creating win-win type jobs, hosted by the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Jeonnam Headquarters.
The event, held at the parking lot of Yumasamohusan in Hwasun, was attended by Yoon Byung-tae, Jeonnam Province Deputy Governor for Political Affairs; Lee Shin-won, Chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Jeonnam Headquarters; Lee Min-soo, Chairman of the Jeonnam Employers Federation; Lee Song-ja, Chairwoman of the Consumer Education Central Association Jeonnam Branch; Lim Seung-soon, Director of the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office; and other labor-management-government-community officials and workers.
The attendees pledged to unite their will to establish a culture of win-win labor-management relations, create a favorable investment environment for businesses, and generate quality jobs so that labor-management-government-community can work together to build ‘Land of Life, Leading Jeonnam.’
Through the declaration, labor agreed to participate in creating good workplaces without discrimination, and employers committed to fostering a business-friendly environment through transparent ethical management and labor-management coexistence.
Civil organizations also pledged to take the lead in regional development by carrying out various social activities, while Jeonnam Province and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office agreed to discover and implement customized systems and policies to ensure that labor-management-government-community agreements achieve results in industrial sites.
Meanwhile, despite the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic causing economic downturn and ongoing employment crises, the province was selected as an excellent local government for job policies for six consecutive years this year.
Additionally, it has been recognized as an exemplary labor-management coexistence culture by being selected as the top and excellent local government for 11 consecutive years in the regional labor-management-government cooperation activation project evaluation.

Yoon Byung-tae, Jeonnam Province Deputy Governor for Political Affairs, said, “Due to COVID-19, the regional economy is struggling and the employment market is unstable. Jeonnam Province will do its best to create jobs as the best welfare in line with the government’s policy direction,” adding, “We ask labor-management-government-community to unite their strength with the power of coexistence to open the era of ‘Land of Life, Leading Jeonnam.’”
