Lotte Food Pasteur Launches 'Dr. Active', Protein-Enhanced Nutritional Meal for Adults
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Lotte Food Pasteur announced on the 4th that it will launch an adult protein-fortified nutritional food, 'Doctor Active.' It is Pasteur's first life-cycle tailored care food product and a health functional food for a vibrant adult life.
Doctor Active is a co-developed product by the Care Food Research Association and Lotte Food. It is nutritionally designed with nine functional ingredients recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, including ▲protein ▲magnesium ▲manganese ▲zinc ▲selenium ▲vitamin B1 ▲vitamin B6 ▲vitamin A ▲vitamin E, helping maintain nerve and muscle function, normal immune function, antioxidant effects, and vision. Consuming three spoons (36g), the daily intake amount, easily meets 100% of the daily nutritional reference values for vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin B1, and vitamin B6, and over 30% for protein and magnesium.
Doctor Active balances five functional animal and plant proteins. It uses concentrated milk protein and concentrated whey protein, which scored over 110 points on the Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Score (DIAAS), an indicator evaluating protein quality. Additionally, it blends hydrolyzed whey protein, which is whey protein that has been hydrolyzed. Plant proteins such as rice and oat protein, tailored to Korean dietary habits, are also added.
The essential amino acid BCAA (branched-chain amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, valine) as a sub-ingredient is formulated in a 2:1:1 ratio of leucine:isoleucine:valine according to Korean nutritional intake standards.
Considering bioavailability, calcium (sub-ingredient) and magnesium (sub-ingredient) are designed in a 2:1 ratio. For gut health, prebiotic ingredients such as fructooligosaccharides and indigestible maltodextrin are blended. Vitamins use Quali-certified premium raw materials (vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin B1, vitamin B6) from the global vitamin manufacturer DSM, meeting 100% of the daily nutritional reference values. Three types of probiotics are also added.
The flavor is based on a domestic seven-grain (brown rice, barley, black rice, glutinous rice, millet, sorghum, foxtail millet) misutgaru, suitable as a breakfast substitute while considering the taste preferences of middle-aged and older adults. It comes in a 288g powder form, and consuming three spoons (36g) dissolved in 160?180ml of water or milk is recommended. The differentiated Pasteur granule method improves protein solubility, allowing it to dissolve well even in cold water or milk.
Pasteur selected Taekwondo trot singer Nataejoo as the model for Doctor Active. Nataejoo's healthy and energetic image was judged to fit well with Doctor Active. The company plans to launch full-scale marketing, including home shopping sales and online advertisement videos.
