'Songpa Teacher Education Expo' Held to Find Solutions for Future Education
Songpa-gu to Hold Online and Offline Education Expo at District Office Auditorium on the 5th at 10 AM... Exploring Future Education Experiences and Development Directions Together
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will hold the Songpa Ssaem Education Expo on the 5th to prepare for future education in the COVID-19 era.
This year’s “Songpa Ssaem Education Expo with Songpa Innovative Education District” is a transformation of last year’s “Songpa Ssaem Education Festival,” which was held around Olympic Park, adapted to the COVID-19 situation.
Under the theme “Songpa Ssaem Preparing for the Future in the COVID-19 Era,” it was organized through cooperation among the public, private, and academic sectors. Various programs such as performances, lectures, and discussions will be offered both online and offline.
The opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on the 5th in the main auditorium of the district office. About 50 people, including parents and students, will attend, where awards will be presented for outstanding works in the first-ever “Online Educational Content Contest” held this year, and educational videos of Songpa-gu’s unique educational support system, “Songpa Ssaem,” will be screened.
At 1 p.m., “Visiting Future Education, Live” will follow. This is a hands-on session using pre-made kits to experience maker education, a representative future education program conducted in schools. Thirty students from Youngpa Girls’ Middle School and Baemyeong Middle School will gather in the district office auditorium and on the Zoom video system to receive real-time education.
At the same time, the district office’s Planning Situation Room will host the “Ask and Find Together Tok Tok Tok” event. This is a discussion session to explore support directions needed in educational sites during the COVID-19 era. Teachers, community instructors, and education experts will come together to find cooperative relationships between schools and communities.
A special lecture for parents on wise media use has also been prepared. Teacher Kang Yong-cheol, a media education expert who participated as a panelist on MBC’s “Study is Money,” will share secrets to solving children’s media dependency issues during a two-hour session starting at 3 p.m.
The lecture will be held in the district office auditorium with about 40 pre-registered attendees and will be available for anyone to watch through the Songpa Ssaem YouTube channel.
In addition, the district has prepared an online debate “Gather, Online Friends!” with about 100 youth participants, an “Ontact Concert” presenting various videos produced by student and youth centers and career experience support centers, and an “Ontact Exhibition” providing educational information from educational organizations and biographical books.
Offline programs will be conducted in small groups of about 50 people to prevent infectious diseases, and all programs can be joined online through the “Songpa Ssaem Education Expo website.”
