[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 1st that it will promote the ‘Public Officials Safe (Neighborhood) Restaurant Companion Challenge.’
Buk-gu decided that during the month of November, the 39 departments of the district office and 28 neighborhood administrative welfare centers will use lunch at 213 designated safe restaurants and small neighborhood eateries in each area.
In particular, after meals, participants will take certification photos and post them on internal administrative work systems or personal SNS to participate in the government’s policy to improve a safe and healthy dining culture suitable for the COVID-19 era.
Meanwhile, from April to June, Buk-gu promoted the ‘Good Consumption Project’ consisting of 10 tasks in 6 major areas to support local small business owners.
Through this, they supported consumption promotion for about 350 local farms and floriculture businesses affected by the sharp drop in agricultural product prices and focused on revitalizing the use of Malbau Market, a representative traditional market in the area.
In particular, as a result of the ‘Public Officials Good Prepayment Challenge,’ 970 employees participated over two months, generating consumption of 62 million won, receiving great response from local residents operating restaurants, cafes, and agricultural, fishery, and livestock food stores.
