Establishing Public-Academic Governance and Opening Regionally Customized Courses
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 26th, Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it signed an MOU with Jeonnam Provincial University on the 23rd to establish a public-academic governance and open a high-quality lifelong education platform for residents.
The signing ceremony was attended by three local governments in the southern region of Jeollanam-do (Boseong, Jangheung, Gangjin).
Boseong-gun and Jeonnam Provincial University will mutually cooperate with the purpose of human exchange, including △establishing and operating a lifelong vocational education hub center, △promoting region-customized courses, △developing and supporting educational support programs, and sharing and spreading outcomes after course completion.
In particular, through this agreement, Boseong-gun expects to expand lifelong education opportunities for local residents, increase employment rates through resocialization, and improve life satisfaction through education.
Deputy Governor Choi Byungman said, “This agreement is a good opportunity to open a lifelong education platform in Boseong-gun, as it is composed of customized lifelong vocational education courses considering regional characteristics, going beyond simple education and leading to employment connection.” He added, “I hope it becomes a place of learning that helps residents in real life, and Boseong-gun will actively cooperate for that.”

Meanwhile, at the same time as signing the MOU with Jeonnam Provincial University, Boseong-gun also signed a lifelong vocational education course MOU in writing with Suncheon Jeil University, allowing Boseong residents to benefit from a total of four region-customized lifelong vocational education courses (two courses per university).
