Collapse of 'Concrete Formwork' at Military Base Construction Site in Bonghwa-gun... 7 Workers Injured
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] At a military construction site in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongbuk, a formwork structure where concrete had been poured collapsed, burying seven workers, but all were rescued within about 40 minutes.
According to the fire authorities and Bonghwa-gun, at around 4:36 PM on the 22nd, the formwork at a new construction site inside a military base in Bonghwa-eup suddenly collapsed. Seven workers were buried under the concrete debris, but all were rescued by the responding fire authorities by around 5:20 PM.
Among the seven workers involved in the accident, two are reported to have sustained serious injuries. The remaining five were confirmed to have mostly minor wounds.

A fire official stated, "It appears that the formwork collapsed due to insufficient curing of the concrete," adding, "All the rescued individuals are receiving treatment at the hospital."
