GS Shop, First in Home Shopping Industry to Sell 'Pet Insurance'
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] GS Shop announced on the 12th that it will be the first in the home shopping industry to sell ‘pet insurance’ for dogs online and via mobile. They expanded options by adding a daily deductible of ‘0 to 10,000 KRW’ to cover small treatment costs under 20,000 KRW.
The ‘AnyPet Dog Insurance’ sold by GS Shop was created in partnership with Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. It comprehensively covers hospitalization and outpatient medical expenses for dogs, and with additional riders, covers surgery costs, skin diseases, liability, and death consolation payments. Customers can choose an insurance period of either 1 year or 3 years.
In particular, by selecting a daily deductible of ‘0 to 10,000 KRW,’ the insurance covers 70% of treatment costs (50% coverage for cruciate ligament surgery under a special rider), easing the medical expense burden for pet owners even for small amounts. Even if the animal is not registered, customers can conveniently enroll anytime, anywhere with just one photo. An event is also being held where customers who calculate their insurance premium will receive 3,000 KRW in GS Shop points.
