Gwangju City, Special Management Measures for Self-Quarantine Individuals During Chuseok Holiday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City is implementing special management measures for individuals under self-quarantine during the Chuseok holiday to ensure that citizens can have a safe and healthy holiday from COVID-19.
According to Gwangju City on the 28th, the city will operate the management system normally, establish and operate an emergency response team, and carry out activities such as sending encouragement messages and providing relief supplies.
First, to ensure the normal operation of the self-quarantine management system during the holiday period, dedicated public officials will receive self-diagnosis reports twice a day through the Self-Quarantine Safety Protection app, conduct random phone calls, and the general department will continuously monitor through the GIS situation management system to prevent any gaps in managing those under self-quarantine.
Additionally, to establish and operate an emergency response system, the city and autonomous districts have formed and are operating a dedicated team of 138 people across six groups to respond quickly to emergencies such as unauthorized departures by securing the whereabouts and taking legal action. During the Chuseok holiday, joint surprise inspections by the city, autonomous districts, and police will be conducted to detect violators of self-quarantine rules.
To prepare for the spread of COVID-19 during the Chuseok holiday, the ratio of self-quarantined individuals to dedicated public officials will be maintained at 1:1, and education will be provided to the dedicated officials using YouTube videos and other materials.
Along with this, to help self-quarantined individuals have a healthy and safe holiday, the mayor and district heads will send encouragement messages urging compliance with quarantine rules, and relief supplies such as thermometers, masks, food, and daily necessities will be continuously provided during the Chuseok holiday to alleviate daily inconveniences.
As of 8 a.m. on the day, there are 538 self-quarantined individuals residing in Gwangju City (521 overseas entrants, 17 community contacts). The city has secured 1,990 dedicated public officials, and the city and district self-quarantine teams are operating daily monitoring and support systems to alleviate daily inconveniences.
