eBay Korea Delivers 'Smile Snacks' to Firefighters Dispatched at Airport
Delivery of 140 Boxes of Snack Sets
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] eBay Korea announced on the 27th that it delivered snack boxes containing messages of support to firefighters at Incheon Airport who are working hard to respond to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), in collaboration with the Firefighters' Association.
On the 24th, eBay Korea handed over 140 snack sets, including the ‘Orion Smile Fun Box’ sold at its Smile Delivery store, to firefighters from the Central Quarantine Center Transport Support Team dispatched to Incheon Airport to transport COVID-19 infected arrivals.
The Central Quarantine Center Transport Support Team at Incheon Airport consists of 76 firefighters from the National Fire Agency and Incheon Fire Headquarters working on the front lines to prevent the spread of overseas-imported COVID-19. Since starting operations in March this year, they have transported a total of approximately 37,850 patients and infection risk individuals, including about 840 confirmed overseas-imported COVID-19 cases. Firefighters in the transport support team perform high-risk duties transporting infected individuals, working in weekly shifts without returning home during their duty weeks and staying near the airport, resulting in high work tension.
Hong Yoon-hee, Director of Communications at eBay Korea, said, “We delivered Smile snacks with gratitude to the firefighters at Incheon Airport who are on the front lines blocking the domestic spread of overseas COVID-19 inflows,” adding, “We will inform the public of the hard work of firefighters protecting the nation’s safety and continue to support them.”
