Energy Economics Institute Signs Technical Workforce Agreement with Nambu Power and SeoulTech University
Green New Deal, Strengthening Technological Capabilities in the Energy Transition Era... Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Energy Economics Institute announced on the 25th that it has signed a 'Business Agreement for Energy Technology Workforce Development' with Korea Southern Power and Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
The agreement ceremony was held non-face-to-face in accordance with government guidelines related to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This business agreement was prepared to establish an industry-academia-research collaboration system in response to the Green New Deal and the era of energy transition.
It aims to nurture energy technology personnel in areas such as climate environment, energy policy, and Industry 4.0 to contribute to leading the future energy industry.
The Korea Energy Economics Institute will handle 'sharing research achievements and the latest trends in the energy policy field,' Seoul National University of Science and Technology will provide 'technical competency enhancement education in energy, climate environment, and Industry 4.0 fields,' and Korea Southern Power will be responsible for 'field training at power generation facilities.' The three institutions also agreed to conduct joint research.
Jo Yongsung, President of the Korea Energy Economics Institute, said, "Through this agreement, we will do our best to support Korea Southern Power employees in strengthening their capabilities to lead the energy transition and Green New Deal era."
Shin Jeongsik, President of Korea Southern Power, said, "Through this agreement, employees will be able to receive high-quality education at excellent educational facilities, cultivate core competencies for the energy transition era, and acquire the capabilities to lead the future energy industry."
