According to the county, Mayor Seo Chun-soo started with Sejin Nursing Home for the Elderly and visited 14 locations including social welfare facilities and Seongae and Geumho villages, delivering prepared Chuseok consolation gifts, the county announced on the 24th.
In particular, Mayor Seo adhered to quarantine rules such as temperature checks to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and delivered the gifts contactlessly outside the facilities. He also urged strict compliance with health authorities' guidelines, including thorough disinfection of facilities and personal hygiene.
While delivering the consolation gifts, Mayor Seo said, "I understand that this year's Chuseok is a more difficult time due to COVID-19," and added, "As we celebrate Chuseok, the greatest traditional holiday of our nation, I will strive so that all residents can feel warm love and hope with neighbors in need."

He continued, "This year, due to the prohibition of visits to social welfare facilities such as nursing homes where many elderly people live to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we handled the situation cautiously," and requested, "Please enforce the ban on visits by guardians before and after Chuseok more strictly at each facility."
