Gwangju Seo-gu Children's Ecological Learning Library, Operating Nature Healing Program
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Children's Ecological Learning Library in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is operating various non-face-to-face nature healing programs for local residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Seo-gu on the 24th, this program was planned to support citizens' reading activities who are not free to engage in outdoor activities due to social distancing and everyday distancing measures.
The "Non-face-to-face Nature Healing Program" is conducted through online Wise Home Life lectures and a non-face-to-face post-reading activity kit called "Our Home Veranda Garden."
The online Wise Home Life lectures are divided into adult and children sessions, and participants can comfortably join the program at home using the online lecture platforms ZOOM and Naver Band.
The non-face-to-face post-reading activity "Our Home Veranda Garden" kit is a nature healing program to overcome COVID Blue, providing an ecological DIY kit that can be enjoyed independently at home to support a safe reading culture.
Participants read the theme books selected by the library, conduct post-reading activities on their own, and then verify their activity process or results through Naver Band.
The Our Home Veranda Garden program will run from next month until December, featuring growing lettuce in October, basil in November, and bean sprouts in December.
Recruitment of participants is on a first-come, first-served basis for each program, and the October lettuce growing program successfully closed recruitment with about 100 participants applying.
A library official stated, "We hope people overcome COVID Blue by feeling nature through the Wise Home Life program in the untact era."
