DAPA Employee Confirmed Positive for COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter]An employee of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) working at the Government Gwacheon Complex has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Government Complex Management Headquarters and DAPA on the 24th, DAPA employee A, who works on the 6th floor of Building 3 at the Government Gwacheon Complex on Jungang-ro, Gwacheon-si, tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day.
It was confirmed that Employee A had contact with another confirmed case after leaving work on the 18th. He came to the Gwacheon Complex office on the 21st and 22nd, and after being notified that he was classified as a contact, he did not come to work on the 23rd and underwent testing.
This is the first time a COVID-19 case has been reported at the Government Gwacheon Complex. Previously, confirmed cases had occurred at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in the Government Sejong Complex, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Government Seoul Complex, and the Personal Information Protection Commission.
Following Employee A's positive diagnosis, 17 people sharing the same office have entered self-quarantine.
The Gwacheon Complex Management Office of the Government Complex Management Headquarters conducted an emergency disinfection of the office and temporarily closed it. Additionally, Buildings 3 and 4, where DAPA is located, as well as shared spaces such as the cafeteria, will undergo further disinfection.

Currently, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency is conducting an epidemiological investigation and additional on-site measures, while the Gwacheon Complex Management Office is reviewing the employee's movements through closed-circuit television (CCTV) within the complex to identify additional contacts.
