Goheung-gun's Chuseok Holiday Measures Urging 'Refrain from Visiting Hometown' Draw Attention
Warm Holiday Atmosphere with Various Policies Such as Grave Mowing Service Guidance and Sharing of Love Side Dishes
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, is drawing attention by promoting various policies while conducting a campaign to refrain from visiting hometowns to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
According to Goheung-gun on the 23rd, the county is implementing various policies to ease the regrets and inconveniences of hometown residents who cannot visit their hometowns during the Chuseok holiday and their families and relatives who remain in the hometown.
First, to provide convenience to out-of-area hometown residents who cannot perform ancestral grave trimming, the county is offering a guide service for local grave trimming agencies through the county office website.
For 300 households and 605 people including foster families, single-parent and grandparent-grandchild families, and Dream Start beneficiaries, food sets will be delivered as tokens of love, and volunteer activities such as house cleaning and environmental maintenance will be carried out for 58 households including elderly living alone, disabled persons, and single-parent families.
The Goheung-gun Women's Association will also deliver side dishes to 638 households of elderly living alone and vulnerable groups and will visit low-income families directly to check on the well-being of the elderly.
The Goheung-gun Public Health Center will create photos and videos of making colorful songpyeon (rice cakes) to provide a unique holiday atmosphere during the Chuseok holiday and send greetings to families via SNS.
In addition, to convey the hometown sentiment, videos will be produced and posted on YouTube, and SNS platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and KakaoStory will be actively used to share hometown news.
