[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, visited the ‘COVID-19 Testing Center’ of Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital (Director Seo Yoo-sung) located on the Nibleaux Barracks site (around 670 Hannam-dong) on the 23rd to encourage the medical staff.
The center began operations on the 21st. Seventeen personnel including doctors, nurses, and guides work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is accessible by vehicle or on foot using the Drive·Walking Thru method. The facility covers an area of 661㎡, with a maximum daily testing capacity of 300 cases.
The Nibleaux Barracks site was used as U.S. military housing after liberation. Currently, the return process is underway according to the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), and Seoul City plans to develop a park on this site in the future.
