XiteCloud is a comprehensive construction site management solution launched by Doosan Infracore in May, which enables completion of construction measurement and earthwork volume calculation within 1 to 2 days through 3D drone surveying.
The Smart Construction Challenge 2020 is a competition jointly hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Korea Land and Housing Corporation, and Korea Expressway Corporation to promote smart construction technology achievements and encourage on-site application. Participating companies showcased smart construction technologies in six fields: ▲Earthwork Automation and Advanced Surveying ▲Smart Construction Safety ▲Smart Maintenance ▲3D Printing ▲Building Information Modeling (BIM) ▲Smart Construction UCC.
Doosan Infracore, participating in the ‘Earthwork Automation and Advanced Surveying’ field, completed fast and precise earthwork volume analysis using an analysis platform based on XiteCloud in the ‘Advanced Surveying’ competition.
In the ‘Earthwork Automation’ competition, Doosan Infracore was the only participating company to equip excavators with semi-automatic excavation technology called Machine Control, completing excavation work with superior precision and speed. Doosan Infracore introduced Korea’s first integrated machine control technology based on a 3D tiltrotator, along with high-precision GPS and advanced sensors. A tiltrotator is an attachment that allows free movement of the excavator bucket. Despite participating with a smaller-sized excavator than other companies, Doosan Infracore was evaluated as superior not only in earthwork speed but also in accuracy, especially in complex slope work.
