Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Supports Remote Class Operation Costs... Establishes 'Ontact Class' Guide
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, which is conducting both in-person and remote classes within a school density of two-thirds or less, announced on the 21st that it will proactively enhance the quality of remote classes by expanding interactive lessons between students and teachers.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education explained that it plans to actively implement the 'Ontact Class Guide Plan,' reflecting the characteristics of the Gyeongbuk region, such as reconceptualizing existing remote classes and diversifying class compositions.
The Office of Education supported 90 elementary schools wishing to activate real-time interactive remote classes by providing licenses for real-time video platforms, licenses for content creation tools, and funds for purchasing edutech content, with amounts ranging from 1 million to 3 million KRW each, totaling 152.4 million KRW.
Additionally, it is resetting the competencies required for teachers in remote classes and strengthening their capabilities. Training content related to real-time interactive classes has been uploaded to the Subeobnuri platform, creating an environment where teachers can learn anytime and anywhere. If schools wish to hold group training sessions, instructors and instructor fees are also supported.
A 'Learning Content Dam' is being established to support both in-person and remote classes. Using Subeobnuri, one-touch learning content bulletin boards are provided by grade, semester, subject, and unit. Through voluntary sharing by the Teaching Inquiry Teacher Community and teaching experts, the burden of content creation on teachers is reduced so they can fully focus on teaching.
Efforts are also being made to strengthen communication between teachers and students, and between teachers and parents. All classes conducting remote lessons using real-time video programs, SNS, or phone calls operate real-time morning and closing meetings. Furthermore, continuous consultations with students and parents via phone or SNS will be conducted.
