Gwangju Buk-gu, Selection of Recipients for the 13th District Residents' Awards
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 21st the selection of the recipients of the '13th Resident Award.'
This year's Resident Award was given to a total of four people in four categories: ▲local economy ▲community service ▲filial piety ▲honored disabled.
Jin Yongchul (60), CEO of Pampas Co., Ltd., selected as the recipient in the local economy category, contributed to the development of the local economy by operating an auto parts company, founding the Korea Automobile Aftermarket Council, and pioneering the global market through technology partnerships and product development.
Kim Hyunja (56, female), CEO of Lee Eun Hair Sense, in the community service category, has been engaged in the beauty industry for 37 years and has set an example in the community by personally practicing beauty volunteer activities for neighbors such as orphanages and nursing homes.
In the filial piety category, Yeo Gyuim (62, female) practiced true filial piety as a child by raising two sons alone after the death of her husband despite difficult circumstances and caring for her mother-in-law with dementia for 43 years.
Kim Jungyoung (67, female), in the honored disabled category, has inspired hope and courage in other disabled people by actively participating as a community leader, including as a Saemaul Women's Association member, female civil defense member, and resident participatory budget committee member, despite having a physical disability.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "I sincerely congratulate and respect the awardees who have dedicated themselves to creating a happy Buk-gu where everyone prospers together," and added, "We will continue to actively discover residents who serve as role models in the community and make them the driving force for the development of Buk-gu."
