Damyang-gun Selected for Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Urban Regeneration Recognition Project'
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 18th that it has been selected for the ‘Urban Regeneration Recognition Project’ contest newly promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The county secured 8.3 billion KRW including national funds once again, adding vitality to regional development following last year’s 15.4 billion KRW Urban Regeneration New Deal Project in Damyang-eup, 15 billion KRW Rural Center Revitalization Project, and 4 billion KRW KEPCO Undergrounding Project.
The ‘Urban Regeneration Recognition Project’ is a national fund project that supports individual unit projects necessary for urban regeneration activation such as living SOC in areas where urban regeneration strategic plans have been established.
Through the selected project, from this year until 2022, the county plans to supply cultural living SOC in the current cultural center site, create spaces supporting cultural self-sustainability, establish a plaza used by all generations, and remodel the performance hall.
Despite the short preparation period for this contest project, the county actively responded by quickly grasping the know-how of contest strategies and central government policy trends to resolve local issues.
