KAMCO Donates 100 Million Won for Multicultural Families
A Total of 170 Families Selected, Planned for Use in Purchasing Chuseok Gifts and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KAMCO (Korea Asset Management Corporation) will donate 100 million KRW as a beautiful gift for multicultural families in celebration of the Chuseok holiday to the Korean Red Cross on the 18th at the Korean Red Cross Disaster Safety Center, with KAMCO President Moon Sung-yu and Korean Red Cross Chairperson Shin Hee-young in attendance.
The donation ceremony will be conducted with minimal essential personnel attending, adhering to government quarantine guidelines to prevent the resurgence of COVID-19.
KAMCO recruited eligible multicultural families through its website and other channels from August 27 to September 9, receiving applications from a total of 1,589 families. After a thorough review, 170 families were selected amid high interest.
With the donation delivered to the Korean Red Cross, 90 families will receive Onnuri gift certificates worth approximately 500,000 KRW to purchase holiday food and daily necessities, while 80 families who find it difficult to meet their parents in their home countries due to COVID-19 will be supported to purchase gifts such as daily necessities worth about 500,000 KRW online and send them locally.
