Gwangyang City Holds Service Report Meeting for Attracting Gwangyang Bay International Eco-Steel Expo
Expectations for the 'Total Steel' Expo Connecting Modern Daily Life with the Vision of Future Society Opened by Steel
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that it held the "(tentative name) Gwangyang Bay International Eco Steel Expo Feasibility Study Research Service Mid-term Report Meeting" in the city hall situation room the day before.
At the mid-term report meeting, 20 officials including Kim Myung-won, Deputy Mayor of Gwangyang, senior public officials, and experts attended to discuss the direction of the expo, content planning, event site development plans, timing, and duration of the event, as well as the progress of the research service.
The research service provider, Gwangju University Industry-Academic Cooperation Group, proposed a hybrid expo under the theme "The Vision of Future Society Opened by Steel," focusing on steel as the core theme and addressing the sub-complex theme "Total Steel," which is connected to the daily lives of modern people.
Furthermore, they suggested hosting the expo in an operational format based on the concept of a "Festival in the Festival," which integrates four independent individual events as sub-themes, going beyond the simple function of an industrial exhibition.
Kim Myung-won, Deputy Mayor of Gwangyang, said, "If the expo is held, it will be an opportunity to experience future life with advanced technology one step ahead," and added, "We hope it will become a hub for future industries that will create new sources of growth for Gwangyang City."
Meanwhile, this research service was conducted to foster future growth engines through a global premium expo incorporating smart advanced technology, amid the situation where the growth of key industries is facing limitations.
