Jeongeup-si to Distribute 'Farmer Public Interest Allowance' in Local Currency Before Chuseok
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province, will distribute 6.4 billion KRW in public interest allowances paid to farmers before Chuseok to revitalize the local economy.
On the 15th, the city announced that the farmers' public interest allowance, which is paid 600,000 KRW per farm, will be given in the form of the 'Jeonghyangnuri Gift Certificate' (card/mobile) to promote coexistence with local small business owners.
The city received applications for the farmers' public interest allowance from February to April, finalized 10,667 recipients, and plans to distribute the allowance from the 21st to the 25th.
The farmers' public interest allowance, implemented for the first time this year, is a system established based on the 'Jeonbuk Agricultural and Rural Public Value Support Ordinance' to recognize the public value of agriculture and to support sustainable agriculture and rural areas.
The recipients must be farming households engaged in actual farming with a registered address in the province for more than two years, and the farming scale must be at least 1,000㎡.
Farms with a comprehensive income amount of 37 million KRW or more outside of agriculture, farms restricted from subsidy payments, and those who have received administrative sanctions for illegal burning, etc., are excluded.
Recipients can receive a card after identity verification procedures at the main branch or branches of the local Nonghyup (National Agricultural Cooperative Federation) at their registered address.
