Gwangju Buk-gu Selected for Development Restriction Zone Resident Support Project Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 14th that it has secured a total project budget of 3.14 billion KRW, including national and city funds, after being selected in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's '2021 Development Restriction Zone Resident Support Project' contest.
Since 2001, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has been supporting living infrastructure projects such as village access roads, water supply and sewage systems, agricultural drainage channels, as well as environmental and cultural projects like Nuri-gil trail creation and landscape projects to improve the living environment of residents in development restriction zones.
In this contest, Buk-gu had a total of five projects selected: two road expansion and paving projects and one reservoir repair and reinforcement project as living infrastructure projects, and two Nuri-gil trail projects as environmental and cultural projects.
In particular, the environmental and cultural projects, namely the '4th Water Source Area Surrounding Nuri-gil Creation Project' and the 'Pyeongchon Bandi Village Nuri-gil Creation Project,' are adjacent to Chung-hyo-dong, and are expected to greatly contribute to the revitalization of tourism in the Mudeungsan area.
Buk-gu plans to invest a total of 3.25 billion KRW, including district funds, starting next year to promote the resident support projects.
