Gwangju Dong-gu Selected for 'Development Restriction Zone Resident Support Project' Competition
Promotion of Neoritjae Leisure Green Space Development Project... Maintenance of Premium Walking Trails, etc.
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 13th that it has secured a project budget of 1 billion KRW after being selected for the 2021 ‘Development Restriction Zone Resident Support Project’ contest.
The ‘Development Restriction Zone Resident Support Project,’ hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is promoted in two areas: living convenience projects and environmental/cultural projects.
Through this contest selection, Dong-gu plans to promote the Seongyo Neoritjae Leisure Green Space Creation Project starting next year.
Through this project, the Neoritjae Nuritgil (connecting walking trail) and premium walking trail (old road between Hwasun) will be maintained, and the Neoritjae Children's Forest will be renovated as a hub facility of a circular movement system linked to these trails.
As a result, a complex green space is expected to be created in the Seongyo District (with about 1,500 households expected to move in), which is the last urban development project currently underway in Dong-gu.
