Chain of COVID-19 Cases Originating from Sanbangsan Oncheon... Jeju Reports 53rd Confirmed Case
August 28 Eumseong → September 10 Undecided → September 11 Final Positive Diagnosis
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Chang-won] On the 11th, additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Jeju.
Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 11th that person A, classified as the 53rd confirmed case in the province, is a family member of Jeju case number 52 and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after specimen testing.
Person A was identified as an employee of Sanbangsan Carbonated Hot Springs located in Sagyeri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo City.
Person A tested negative on August 28, received an inconclusive result on the 10th, and was transported by ambulance from their home at 1:30 PM on the 11th to the Seogwipo City Western Health Center screening clinic, where a retest around 2 PM confirmed the positive diagnosis.
After specimen collection, Person A returned home by health center vehicle and was undergoing self-quarantine. At around 7:30 PM that day, the provincial Health and Environment Research Institute notified them of the positive result.
The provincial quarantine authorities disinfected the interior and exterior of Person A’s residence and began an epidemiological investigation to identify movement paths and contacts.
