Gyeongnam National University Institute of Far Eastern Studies Hosts Session at '2020 Korea Peninsula International Peace Forum'
Evaluation and Prospects of Kim Jong-un Regime's Direct Breakthrough Strategy
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] The Kyungnam University Institute of Far Eastern Affairs will host a session of the '2020 Korea Peninsula International Peace Forum' (KGFP 2020), organized by the Ministry of Unification from the 8th, under the theme "Evaluation and Prospects of Kim Jong-un Regime's Frontline Breakthrough Strategy."
In the session of the Kyungnam University Institute of Far Eastern Affairs, moderated by Director Lee Gwan-se, Professor Im Eul-chul of the Kyungnam University Institute of Far Eastern Affairs will present on "Economic Evaluation and Prospects of the Frontline Breakthrough," and Professor Kim Dong-yeop of the same institute will present on "Diplomatic and Military Evaluation and Prospects of the Frontline Breakthrough." Discussants include Senior Researcher Lee Young-hoon of SK Management and Economic Research Institute and Professor Lee Jeong-cheol of Soongsil University.
Amid anticipated difficulties in North Korea's execution of the 'Frontline Breakthrough' due to international sanctions, COVID-19, and natural disasters, attention is focused on the comprehensive evaluation to be conducted in the Kyungnam University Far East Institute session.
Under the theme "Peace and Prosperity on the Korean Peninsula?Past, Present, and Future," this KGFP 2020, held until the 9th, will be live-streamed on YouTube to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
