Lotte Duty Free Hosts Online Demo Day for Jeju Youth Enterprise Support Project
10 Jeju-Based Youth Companies Specialized in Tourism Industry
Sharing Regional Win-Win Business Models and Achievements
Conducted Online to Prevent COVID-19 Spread
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 8th that it will hold an online demo day for the 'Youth Enterprise and Regional Coexistence Project in Jeju' on the 10th.
The 'Lotte Duty Free Youth Enterprise and Regional Coexistence Project' is a social contribution project aimed at creating jobs and revitalizing the economy in the region by fostering local youth enterprises. It is a support program conducted in the form of ‘100% donation’ rather than profit-oriented equity investment or loan-type startup support. Building on the successful completion of the project in Busan in the first half of last year, Lotte Duty Free started the second phase of support by recruiting young entrepreneurs in the Jeju area in September last year.
The second phase of the Jeju project was hosted by Lotte Duty Free, organized by the Korea Productivity Center, supported by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and carried out in collaboration with Lotte Accelerator.
A total of 10 youth enterprises related to the tourism industry and regionally specialized businesses in Jeju participated in the Jeju project. Lotte Duty Free actively strengthened the competitiveness of participating companies by providing business expenses support along with customized education, advisory services, and one-on-one mentoring-centered acceleration. As a result, the total sales of the companies increased by approximately 347%, achieving significant outcomes.
On the 10th at 2 p.m., an online demo day will be held to provide participating young entrepreneurs with opportunities to expand networking and attract investment. Each company will share their business achievements during the demo day and introduce their business models directly to investors and potential customers through a live chat Q&A session. The YouTube channel broadcasting the demo day live will open on the day of the event, the 10th.
