According to Gwangyang Steelworks on the 7th, recent strengthened social distancing measures have made it difficult for employees to dine out at external restaurants to avoid the 3Cs (closed spaces, crowded places, close-contact settings). This has resulted in local restaurants facing difficulties in sales. In response, Gwangyang Steelworks identified nearby restaurants experiencing economic hardship and launched the "One Lunch Meal" campaign.
Employees ordered dishes such as Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), Dolsotbap (stone pot rice), and homemade-style set meals from local restaurants that previously found takeout or delivery challenging, after seeking their cooperation.
The owner of a restaurant in Taein-dong, Gwangyang City, said, "We understand the necessity of social distancing, but sales have inevitably dropped compared to before, making it difficult to operate the business. We are grateful to Gwangyang Steelworks for preparing this campaign to help small business owners."
A Gwangyang Steelworks official involved in the campaign stated, "This was prepared for both the local small business owners and employees who are struggling under the adverse conditions of COVID-19 and bad weather," adding, "We express our gratitude to all employees who actively participated in the campaign."
